Realtime Billing

The UnicoTel RealTime Billing service makes the online display of invoicing and call information data possible

Using the service, invoicing and call data may be displayed online once the call is completed. Daily and monthly limits may be both monitored. As a result, our telecommunication partners may simply monitor and limit the traffic of their (new) customers, making it possible to efficiently screen out unreliable subscribers.

Application possibilities: 
The UnicoTel switch is equipped with a so-called RealTime Billing Engine, which immediately calculates the costs of the calls following the completion of the subscriber calls based on the tariff table assigned to the customer, the number dialed (call direction), and the length of the call. If the subscriber has a so-called postpaid account, call costs are immediately charged to the customer account. In the case of prepaid accounts, the maximum call length corresponding to the balance is calculated based on the number dialed and the tariff, and calls may not last any longer than this. Once the time has expired / balance has been depleted, the call is automatically disconnected, and the subscriber will be unable to initiate new calls at a later point. If the subscriber does not make use of all of the balance available, a new call may be initiated up to the limit of the remaining balance. Prior to the depletion of the balance, a warning is provided to subscribers during the call in the form of a voice announcement to the effect that the balance is low / is being depleted.

The main areas of application for RealTime Billing are for example prepaid residential VOIP services or CPS services, but even calling card services may be implemented by supporting this solution. RealTime Billing may also provide help for example for cable TV companies to exercise simple and quick financial control over the telecommunication service provided to their companies (invoicing, limit monitoring, etc.).

The service may also be used by telecommunication companies with appropriate customer traffic who want to introduce or complement the monitoring of this traffic (e.g.: prepaid, limit monitoring), and newly started telecommunication companies may use it as a complete invoicing solution for their prepaid and postpaid customers.
